In West Central Texas, we believe that each person has a unique gift to share to make the world a better place.  A Call for Help Community Resource Center is pleased to provide a basic level of coordination for people wanting to share their time and talent through volunteerism.

Day Nursery of Abilene

Volunteer(s) are needed on-site to organize several years of newspaper clippings into chronological order and glue clippings into a scrapbook. Necessary tools will be provided for use by the volunteer(s). Estimated to take 25 - 30 hours to complete the task. For more information please call: 673-1110 and ask for Sheila.


Opportunities to Give Back  

Meals on Wheels

Abilene seniors and young adults with disabilities in our community are in need of your help. Meals on Wheels Plus is currently needing Meal Delivery Drivers, Pantry help, and Pet food delivery. Meals on Wheels Plus provides daily hot nutritious meals along with our additional plus services, such as wellness checks, Pet food on Wheels, Pet to the Vet, Groceries on Wheels, Ensure and Depends, Errands to Go and Saturday meals. We deliver about 1300 meals per day all across Taylor County.  Please volunteer and help us enhance the quality of living for our recipients. Food Bank of West Central Texas

At the Food Bank help with product recovery, work in the fast-paced warehouse, provide administrative support, conduct your own food and fund drives, or assist with special events. All volunteer opportunities are customized to suit the skills and needs of those involved. Cancer Services Network

Cancer patients in our community are in urgent need of travel expense support.  All amounts are welcome.  $5 will help someone get across town for their treatment.  Please mail donations to Cancer Services Network, PO Box 2026, Abilene TX 79604. Donations can also be made online at http://www.cancerservicesnetwork.org/  Cancer Services Network provides HELP and HOPE to cancer patients and their families through financial, emotional, spiritual and social support. St Mark’s Baby Room (St Mark’s Episcopal Church)

$72 for disposable diapers and another $20 for wipes is the average monthly cost for each baby in diapers. This expense is a huge burden for low-income families. St. Mark’s Baby Room works to fill that gap. They need donations of diapers (newborn to size 6) and wipes to help families in need. They also accept gentled used baby furniture.
